Pirate Joe, his dad and Cannon the ship’s guinea pig are miserably marooned on their boat missing the Bucaneer’s Christmas party across the water at Swashbucklers’ Hall. Worst of all, the Christmas treasure hunt is happening without them! Instead, Joe and his dad uncover a dusty old picture book that retells the story of the very first Christmas. They settle down to read it together and discover a very different kind of treasure.
“When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem, the town was full! The only place left to sleep was with the animals.”
“Sounds a bit smelly,” laughed Joe.
Cannon gave Joe a hard guinea pig stare. She always shared a hammock with Joe, and he’d never complained before.
